Nachhaltigkeit in der Landespolitik

Im Jahr 1997 wurde der Bericht der norwegischen Regierung zur Umsetzung der Agenda 21 in Norwegen auf der Rio-Folgekonferenz 1997 in New York veröffentlicht (Implementation of Agenda 21: Review of progress made since the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, 1992. Information Provided by the Government of Norway to the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development, Fifth Session, 7-25 April 1997, New York).

Auf dieser Basis hat die UNESA ihren Bericht Natural Resource aspects of sustainable development in Norway erstellt, der die Politik, die Strukturen und die Umsetzung für zwölf Schlüsselbereiche wie u.a. Landwirtschaft, Atmoshäre (Klima), Artenvielfalt, Energie, Forsten, Frischwasser, Landmanagement, Ozeane und Küsten, toxische Chemikalien und Abfälle sowie gefährliche Materialien untersucht.

Im Herbst 1999 hat die norwegische Regierung ihren Nationalen Umweltplan (The Government's Environmental Policy and the State of the Environment) ans Parlament übersandt. Auf der Webseite des Umweltministeriums stehen eine englische Zusammenfassung und folgende Kapitel zur Verfügung:
